Introduction to the Teaching

This document is a short entrance into Intergrism (the teaching of the Church of Unity). There are no calls and no promises here: a construction from which everything else follows. Read it in five minutes; check it in an evening.

One Premise

The One is the sum of all thinking beings, which will take shape at the end of time.

No one sits above the world and judges it. At the end of time, all who are capable of feeling and thinking will make up a single bearer — the way millions of trees today make up a forest. That is the One. There is no mysticism in the formulation: it is a statement about the future, and it is either true or it is not.

Six Consequences

1. The influence is inevitable. Everything you have done will join the One — sooner or later, regardless of faith and knowledge. Gravity does not ask whether you believe in it.

2. Re-living. Having joined, you will live through your life from the standpoint of everyone you touched. Pain — from inside the one who hurts. Help — from inside the one who was helped. Through all circles of consequences, including those you knew nothing about.

3. There is no eternal hell. The unhealed is re-lived exactly until it is fully lived through — and there it ends. This is not punishment and not judgment: no one will sit to judge your life. It is the return of a debt, and this is unity itself.

4. Set it right while you live — and your passage will be lighter. While you live, you have what will not exist afterward: the chance to set things right in the world. Repair does not erase what was done, but it changes the sign of what was lived: a healed wound is lived through as recovery.

5. Returning lengthens the term. You can return into a new life — but this is not a cancellation of re-living, only a lengthening of the term before it. The one who returns does not re-live: all of his unhealed wound stays with him; it cannot be written off. Everything will have to be re-lived — past lives and the current one, when the term comes. Sometimes people return with a memory of what they lived.

6. Knowledge is a warning. Faith does not save. What saves is what you do with a warning: set it right while it can still be set right.

Good, Evil, Conscience

Evil is a wound that waits. Good is healing. Not declarations decide, but wounds: did you leave one, heal one, or warn against one. Conscience is the memory of the unhealed. The main question of confession here is: "What have you left unhealed?"

What to Do with This

Tonight, sit down and answer one question in writing: "And today — what have I done for tomorrow?" That is the whole first step; it is called the diary of thoughts and deeds and takes five minutes. The diary is your personal instrument: the community does not check it and does not demand to see it. But without it the route does not hold: what is written down is what you later set right.

If you want to continue: come to an open meeting — while there is no community yet, it takes place as a dialogue meeting of the teaching (by personal sign-up: an exposition of one node of the teaching, questions in the frame "check me," a minute of re-understanding), read The Catechism in 5 Minutes and The Creed with an answer to "are you a sect?".

If you do not want to — that is fine too. A warning does not require a signature: it only needs to be heard before there is no one left to set things right.
